Yoga Instructor - Breathe. Move. Connect.

My Style

My goal is to make yoga accessible to everyone, this is why all of my classes are spiritually neutral. I believe that yoga provides a balanced experience that everyone should have in their life.

My style of teaching is Vinyasa based. In Sanskrit Vinyasa means to place in a special way and represents the temporary nature of things because you do not hold a pose for very long. You visit one pose and move to another with intention using your breath as a guide.

I love creating different sequences and guiding my class through unique and challenging flows. I also appreciate a more rigorous practice that is high energy and focuses on cardio and building strength. I close all of my classes with restorative poses to allow the body to relax and the mind to reflect.

Breathe

Conscious breathing is the essence of yoga. Connecting with your breath allows you to be present shifting your focus to your practice and away from everyday stressors. Practicing yoga breathing techniques will not only enhance your experience on the mat it will help manage your emotions off the mat. Focused breathing supports the parasympathetic nervous system activating what is commonly known as the "relaxation response”.

Move

Asana is the Sanskrit word for posture, it is the physical practice of yoga. Asanas are performed to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. In Vinyasa yoga, each pose is not held for very long, rather you transition smoothly from one Asana (posture) to the next. The benefit of this type of yoga is the constant movement. It lubricates joints, increases blood flow and brings oxygen and nutrients to your joints. Motion is lotion baby!

Connect

Connecting your breath with movement brings your mind and body into balance. Encouraging your body to flow with your breath guides your body into a shape safely and with direction. Our breath helps us move deeper into a pose and hold a posture for longer. Combining breath with movement is meditation in motion.
